In-Person Worship Gatherings Information

We are worshipping in-person at 9 Oak Street on Sundays at 10:15 AM. Please read the in-person gathering plan to know what to expect (on everything from mandatory masks to health checks).

For those of you who will not be joining us in person, we will either stream the service on Facebook Live or post a recording of it to Facebook later in the day, depending on how the internet looks in the morning.

  • Our Promises

  • Visiting a church can be stressful. We've all been where you are right now. So we can say with great confidence that the blessing of finding this church is a rich reward for the stress of the first-time visit.
We want to do our part to minimize the potential stress of your first visit. Here are our promises to you:

    • You will not be embarrassed by not knowing what to do and where to go. We've worked very hard to have directional signs and information stations available to help in your visit. However, signs can be confusing, so we've got several designated greeters around the church lobby. You'll recognize them by the name tag. Don't hesitate to ask them questions.
    • You will not be asked to do anything embarrassing. We won't ask you to stand and introduce yourself in the service. We won't ask you to wear a big flower or a special pin that targets you as a guest. We appreciate your visit. We will give you plenty of space to enjoy your time with us.
    • You won't be shaken down for money. We don't apologize for the offering during the worship time. The gifts we give to the Lord are an expression of gratitude and dependence upon God. However, you are not expected to participate in the offering. You will not be asked to pay for the service, the coffee, or the friends you make during your visit.
    • You will be welcomed as you are. There is no dress code at our church. Some people will come wearing a sports coat or dress.  Some people will come to church with a T-shirt and jeans. We come into the presence of God in worship to humbly receive His gifts, not to compare ourselves to others.
    • You will be encouraged to join us in giving thanks to God for all His good gifts.
    • You will discover more about God's active love in our lives and be challenged to experience the fullness of life that is ours as we follow Jesus.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's a service like?

Our worship is intimate and meaningful. Songs are both contemporary and updated traditional. “Our service springs from a confessional Lutheran liturgy. Our language is up-to-date and accessible. We begin each service with singing, invoking the presence of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, listening to the Word and a weekly Gospel message, end the service with Holy Communion and enter back into the world with praise in our hearts.”

What's the music like?

Worship is a spiritual experience, drawing each individual into a deeper connection with Jesus Christ.  We choose songs which both support our foundational beliefs, but also elevate our souls.  Stylistically, we are an acoustic contemporary band, singing current songs and also modern variations of hymns in order to lead heartfelt and authentic worship.

How do people dress?

We want you to be comfortable, so come as you are. Dress tends to be modest and casual. Depending on the weather, people wear jeans, shorts, sandals, etc.

Can I take communion?

During communion, we believe that we receive, in, with, and under the bread and wine, the true body and blood of Christ shed on the cross. The same Jesus Christ, who is now risen and ascended to Heaven. (Insert your communion statement here.)

How can I get connected?

There are many ways to connect with us: become a member, join a small group, or get involved in a ministry where you can serve others with your particular gifts, talents and experiences. Stop at the Welcome Table on Sunday morning to express your desire, and we’ll put you in touch with the right person.

What can you do today to stay connected? Like our Facebook page or sign-up for our weekly newsletter. You’ll know what we’re up to during the week.

Find us in the community: We participate in Whitmore Lake area events, which aren’t church services. When you find us having fun around town, you are welcome to participate.

Join us for other church events. There are times during the year when we take some time to hang-out together and simply build friendships. Join us for pot-lucks, splashing on the lake, pond hockey, Fourth-of-July festivities, and other seasonal fun.

Where do I park?

We invite you to park in the church parking lot, additional parking across street at 175 Barker. There are handicap spaces at the end of the building as you enter the lot. We have added 3 visitor spaces directly in front of the main entrance. There will be greeters in the lot to help direct you.

If you need to drop off someone from your household at the door, please feel free to do so.
